Was today a supervolcano erupting?
Checking
NO
No — no supervolcano is erupting; Yellowstone is quiet and Kilauea isn't one.
Why
- No volcanic events tracked worldwide in the past 3 days
- Kilauea's episode ended Oct 17; next expected Oct 28–Nov 5
- Yellowstone's last supereruption was about 630,000 years ago
