Was today a total solar eclipse?
NO
No — today is not a total solar eclipse, and no eclipse of any kind is scheduled for it.
Why
- The 2026 total solar eclipse was on August 12, visible from Spain and Iceland.
- Totality needs the Moon's shadow to cross Earth, which is rare on any given date.
- Eclipse dates are fixed by orbital mechanics, so this answer won't change today.
