Was today the day the DVD player became obsolete?
NO
No — DVD players were declared obsolete gradually years ago, not on October 27, 2026.
Why
- Netflix mailed its last DVD in September 2023
- Best Buy stopped stocking DVDs and Blu-rays in 2024
- Pioneer exited optical drives entirely in April 2025
