Was today the most expensive gas in the us?
Checking
NO
No — at about $4.29 a gallon, today's national average is a record for late October, not the all-time high.
Why
- AAA national average regular: about $4.29 per gallon on Oct. 25
- Down from roughly $4.49 a month earlier
- Still $1.23 above last year's $3.06 average
